My research broadly examines queer (dis)belonging in South Korea through critical discourse analysis. I am interested in how queerness is constructed, negotiated, and contested across public, political, and mediated contexts, including Pride and anti-queer protest, visual and linguistic landscapes, legislative discourse, and media representation. Across these sites, I examine how discourse reproduces and challenges ideologies of sexuality, family, nation, and belonging, and how these processes shape the conditions under which queer subjects become recognizable, legitimate, or excluded.
